ABOUT
Breakin’ it down.
SEAN SKELTON
SEAN SKELTON brings a multi-faceted pedigree to his production entity, Mad Rocket. A graduate of UC Santa Barbara’s film program, Skelton’s foundational experience includes starring in the Student Academy Award-nominated short Oblivion and a Silver Clio-winning campaign. He later shared a key scene with Oscar winner Nicolas Cage in The Rock and performed opposite Liam Neeson and Laura Linney in the Oscar-nominated Kinsey. This early immersion in high-stakes studio environments and elite performance informs his collaborative, actor-centric approach and his ability to command the sophisticated narratives that define his work.
Upon moving to New York City, Skelton co-created, produced, and directed the MOJO HD documentary series Wall Street Warriors. The series ran for three seasons and became the most downloaded docu-series on iTunes for several months. His versatility as a director-producer continued with the Webby-nominated series Financially Fit for Yahoo! Studios and the documentary short Biosphere 2 for Retro Report and The New York Times.
Skelton’s narrative work has consistently garnered top-tier industry recognition. He helmed the indie TV pilot Trouble, which earned Best TV Drama at the Independent Television Festival and Best Writing at the New York Television Festival. His comedy pilot Schmucks, Inc., starring Richard Kind and Craig Bierko, also won Best Pilot at NYTVF. His broader creative slate has been shortlisted for major co-development by Lionsgate and AMC-Channel 4, further solidifying his reputation for high-caliber, visionary storytelling.
After spending 14 years in NYC, Skelton has returned to his home state of California and resides in Venice Beach, Los Angeles.
